Lonestar Danes is located on a few acres in the small South Texas town of Natalia Texas. Natalia Texas is about 30 miles South of San Antonio on I.H. 35 between Lytle and Devine. Tiffany & Hector who own Lonestar Danes both grew up in Helotes Texas which is on the NW side of San Antonio. As the little town of Helotes they had once grown up in had now become very urbanized, they decided to move south of San Antonio and find a little piece of land near a less urbanized area.
Tiffany has had Danes since 2010 and has had a passion for them ever since. We currently have 4 Danes, Judge, Betsy, Deets, and Justice. We also have 2 Blue Heelers, a Catahoula, a Yellow Lab, a Dachshund, Ducks, and a lot of Chickens. As you can see, our animals are family to us and not just pets. We raise our puppies with love and attention. They are accustomed to both adults and children.
Being a responsible Great Dane breeder means taking on the responsibility of breeding dogs in a way that prioritizes the health, well-being, and temperament of the breed. It also means providing proper care and support for the puppies produced.
Here are some guidelines we follow for being a responsible Great Dane breeder:
1.Temperament: Great Danes are gentle and loving dogs. It's essential to ensure that your breeding dogs have excellent temperaments and are free of any aggressive tendencies. This will help ensure that the puppies they produce will also have good temperaments.
2. Ethical Breeding Practices: Breeding dogs should only be bred once they have reached an appropriate age and maturity. It's also essential to ensure that the breeding process is not harmful to the dogs. Inbreeding and overbreeding should be avoided, and dogs should not be bred for extreme physical traits that may negatively impact their health.
3. Socialization and Training: Socializing and training puppies from an early age are crucial for their development. As a responsible Great Dane breeder, you should provide the puppies with a safe and loving environment and expose them to different people, places, and experiences.
4. Lifetime Support: As a responsible Great Dane breeder, you should be available to provide support and advice to puppy owners throughout their dog's lifetime. You should also be willing to take back any puppies that owners can no longer care for, rather than seeing them end up in shelters.
5. Breeding for the Right Reasons: Responsible breeders do not breed dogs for financial gain. Instead, they breed dogs because they love the breed and are committed to improving it. A responsible Great Dane breeder should also be willing to limit the number of litters they produce to ensure that each puppy receives adequate care and attention.
In conclusion, being a responsible Great Dane breeder requires a commitment to the health and well-being of the breed, as well as the puppies produced. Breeding should only be done for the right reasons, and it should be done with the utmost care and attention to ensure that each puppy is healthy, happy, and well-socialized.
We own 4 Great Danes and choose to call them family and not pets. This goes for all the animals we have at home. Our Males are Judge, a sweet, loving, and curious Merle who is unregistered but genetically tested 100% Dane with Paperwork. Deets is our CKC registered Mantle Male who is also a sweet, docile, and loving boy who just wants to be rubbed.
Our Females are Betsy, who is a sweet, loving, and quirky CKC registered Mantle. She has quite the loving personality.
Lastly, Justice is our AKC registered Harlequin who likes to play with all our dogs, sit in the kiddie pool, and loves attention.
We would like Lonestar Danes to expand your family with a top-quality Dane puppy that is healthy and happy. We put a lot of time and effort into ensuring all our dogs live healthy lives. A lot of hard work and attention insures a good beginning for the puppies under our care. We will release puppies at 8 weeks of age to their new family and home. We consider our quality of puppies to be priced very
reasonably.
